Dear Biology community,
The department is seeking nominations for a new award recognizing outstanding mentorship of undergraduate researchers by trainees and staff within the Biology Department. We seek to honor mentors who transform students' scientific thinking, confidence, and career trajectories through exceptional guidance and support.
Eligibility: Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research staff who have mentored UROP students for at least one semester. The nominee must be in a lab where the faculty is listed on the Biology Department (Course 7) Faculty Website<https://biology.mit.edu/faculty-and-research/faculty/>, but the mentee does not strictly need to be enrolled in Course 7. Mentorship through MSRP in the Biology program is included in this eligibility.
More information about the process and the nomination form can be found here<https://forms.gle/VtnMUKCwvpsQKN8Q6>. <https://forms.gle/VtnMUKCwvpsQKN8Q6>
Nominations are due no later than 5pm on Friday, May 22nd. Please email Hallie Dowling-Francisco (halliedh at mit.edu<mailto:halliedh at mit.edu>) with any questions.
Best,
