P-Set Nights<https://ome.mit.edu/tsr2/tsr2-services/weekly-pset-nights> – P-Set Nights are drop-in sessions at the TSR^2 where students can come and work on p-sets and ask questions to the TSR^2 Facilitators. The schedule for this term is still being finalized. More details to come.
One-On-One Appointments<https://ome.mit.edu/tsr2/tsr2-services/one-one-appointments> – 1hr-long individual appointments with a TS facilitator in many subjects, particularly GIRs. To view and book available appointments you will need to download the Nimbus App<https://ome.mit.edu/tsr2/tsr2-services/one-one-appointments>. The schedule for this term is still being finalized. Exam Reviews<https://ome.mit.edu/tsr2/tsr2-services/exam-reviews> – Drop-in review sessions for GIR midterms (1hr long) and finals (2hrs long) typically happen 1-2 days before the exam itself and are advertised via email to those who opt in and through the TSR^2 Google Calendar<https://ome.mit.edu/programs-services/tsr2-calendar>. The schedule for this term is still being finalized. More details to come.
Facilitated Study Groups-<https://ome.mit.edu/tsr2/tsr2-services/one-one-appointments> Study groups for students who are interested in enhancing their problem-solving skills in a collaborative, judge-free small group environment. A TSR^2 facilitator will guide the biweekly study sessions focusing on core concept understanding and problem-solving techniques. Subjects are still being finalized for this term. Interested in a job in the MIT Office of Minority Education (OME) as a TSR^2 Facilitator?
We are looking for currently enrolled undergraduate students and/or graduate students who completed their undergraduate degree at MIT to work with the Talented Scholars Resource Room (TSR^2). Duties include, but are not limited to, working at least 6 hours a week (2 hours during Pset Nights and 4 hours availability for one-on-one appointments and/or facilitated study groups), attending one training session, and attending monthly Facilitator meetings.
Hours: 6 hours minimum per week
Pay rate: $16.00/hr for undergraduates, $18.00/hr for graduate students
Qualities needed: You need to have aced the class you want to teach and feel committed to and enjoy teaching MIT students from diverse backgrounds. Students who have used TSR^2 services in the past are strongly encouraged to apply. Students who have previous teaching/mentoring experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
