Subject: Please share - deadline for MITEI Summer UROP funding this Friday
Date: May 10, 2022 at 11:57:48 AM EDT

Dear All,

If you could please share this information with your undergrads and faculty, I’d be very grateful.

Tl;dr - MITEI still has summer UROP funding<http://energy.mit.edu/urop> for projects related to energy and tackling the climate crisis, and the final deadline is May 13 at 11:59PM. Decisions should be availably by May 20.

This is a friendly reminder that the final deadline for MITEI’s Summer UROP<https://energy.mit.edu/education/undergraduate/urop/> is fast approaching! Remember to submit your application<https://mit.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bxt0c9hTtqiPx0p> for funding by 11:59pm on May 13th to be considered for the summer 2022 UROP cohort.

As a reminder, MITEI’s Summer UROP funding comes with 10 weeks of supportive programming, a cohort of fellow energy summer UROPs, and the opportunity to present a poster at MITEI’s annual research conference. Our UROP students also get card access to the Energy Commons and higher pay per hour than direct-funded UROPs. If you have questions, check in with Rachel at rshulman at mit.edu<mailto:rshulman at mit.edu>.

Still polishing your proposal? You can find a guide to writing research proposals here<https://www.dropbox.com/s/9ffqncbhrjb5b8w/Slides%20UG%20UROP%20Proposal%20Workshop.pdf?dl=0> and annotated examples of effective MITEI UROP proposals<https://www.dropbox.com/s/901q6ai9jcl3dyu/Example1.pdf?dl=0> here<https://www.dropbox.com/s/2hfcdqlw1iptpzp/Example2.pdf?dl=0>.

FAQs:
Q: What if I already have Direct Funding from the UROP Office<http://mit.edu/urop>?
A: You can still apply.

Q: Are there any special requirements for the MITEI UROP application?
A: Yes! We ask that students explain in their proposals how their research will address the UN Sustainable Development goals<https://sdgs.un.org/goals>, help make an impact on the climate crisis, and help achieve the energy transition.

Q: Do you mind if I share this info with other students?
A: I’d be very grateful if you did!

I’m always happy to answer questions - just email or call.

Thank you!

Best,
Rachel
