Subject: MIT Science Policy Review Volume II release!

---------

The MIT Science Policy Review<https://sciencepolicyreview.org/> is a researcher-run journal at the intersection of emerging technology and public policy. Our goal is to impartially review policies that address current issues and bridge the gap between scientists, policymakers, and the general public.

We released our second volume<https://sciencepolicyreview.org/volume-ii/> a few days ago! Our front cover article is on the regulation and management of debris in space! The back cover article is on the impact of international scientists and students on U.S. research outputs and global competitiveness. Four articles are on understanding and preventing a pandemic and the spread of disease. Among many exciting articles, there are ones that discuss the potential of quantum information science, the regulation of fusion technology, equitable bikeway expansion, and equity in the electric vehicle infrastructure .

In addition to peer-reviewed articles, this year’s volume includes a series of interview reports with scientists who have prioritized engagement with the public, delved into public policy, and focused on improving scientific culture during their careers! MIT Emeritus Professor Jonathan King talks about social responsibility and activism in academia<https://sciencepolicyreview.org/2021/08/jonathan-king-social-responsibility-activism-academia/>.

For those interested in getting involved with MIT SPR, keep an eye out for our Volume III solicitation email in a few weeks! And be sure to follow us on Twitter @SciPolRev<https://twitter.com/SciPolRev>.
