Are you interested in RNA biology? We have something new for you. We are offering a new Advance Undergraduate Seminar focused on RNAs and gene expression!

DNA's Sister Does All the Work: The Central Roles of RNA in Gene Expression
Spring 2019, Wednesdays 11 am-1 pm, Room 68-150 (Date and time are flexible and subject to change in response to needs of students)

Instructors: Ana Fiszbein (anafisz at mit.edu<mailto:anafisz at mit.edu>, laboratory of Chris Burge)
Marvin Jens (mjens at mit.edu<mailto:mjens at mit.edu>, laboratory of Chris Burge)

The poster with more information is attached, and you can find a full description of Advance Undergraduate Seminars here<https://biology.mit.edu/undergraduate/current-students/subject-offerings/advanced-undergraduate-seminars/>. They are graded pass/fail, carry six units, and meets for two hours weekly.

This course focuses on reading, understanding, and critiquing primary research publications. Through interactive discussions, students will be taught how to design properly controlled experiments to address a particular research question, interpret results, and draw valid conclusions based on the data. We will also have the opportunity to visit a Cambridge-based RNA therapeutics company and see what the day-to-day life of a scientist looks like.

Please spread the word!

Best,
Ana Fiszbein & Marvin Jens
Burge lab, MIT
