Subject: Learn about Science Policy at Duke this Summer!
Date: March 15, 2018 at 10:03:10 AM EDT
The Duke Science Policy Summer Institute provides a transformative introduction to science policy for students, postdocs, and researchers.
Students seeking a high-impact summer experience can explore Science Policy at the new Duke Science Policy Summer Institute. During their stay, they will receive valuable training that is too often neglected in STEM education.
Are Your Students Equipped to Translate Science to the Policymakers Who Write the Rules?
This writing-intensive 4-week curriculum at Duke University will give participants a grounding in how to read, write, and understand science policy. Participants will write and publish policy briefs, draft proposed legislation, and meet with members of the North Carolina legislature.
The optional 6-week practicum extension to the program will allow participants to get hands-on experience working in the Duke SciPol office to produce briefs, memos, and legislation for local and national clients at the nexus of science and policy.
Thank you for sharing this with your students. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Madeline
