Summer Institute in Bioethics
June 1 – July 22, 2017 • New Haven, CT
The Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics hosts an intensive Summer Institute in Bioethics for U.S. and international participants.
The “Foundations” component will run from June 1st - 9th and consists of an introduction to ethical theory along with a review of bioethical principles, theories, terms, and history, and concluding with a site visit to The Hastings Center in NY. The remainder of the program will cover ethical issues pertaining to a broad range of topics including medicine, law, religion, public health, animal ethics, and the environment. There are lectures in the morning, followed by small-group mini-courses in the afternoons.
Participants include graduate students and professionals along with a few select undergraduates. Participants receive mentoring from experts in the field and have ample opportunity to tailor the program to meet their career & research goals.
Application deadline for U.S. applicants: February 15, 2017
Tuition is $1,800 (undergraduates); $2,200 (law students, medical students, other graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows); $3,200 (professionals).
Course credit may be available, and housing is available within walking distance for an additional cost.
