Biology Lab Operations Intern
Interested in working with an MIT startup at the MIT Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship this summer? Biobot Labs<http://biobot.io> works at the intersection of smart cities and genomics to extract information on human health and behavior from sewage.
We are looking for a summer intern to take on lab operations which involve testing and running protocols, sourcing supplies, administrating inventory, managing shipments and establishing a sample storage/logging system.
This is a great opportunity to work with an early-stage startup and plug into the MIT- and greater-Boston entrepreneurship ecosystem. You will work directly with the founders, and your work will set the foundation of our lab infrastructure.
Who you are:
* You are eager to learn and work independently in the wet-lab.
* You love organization.
* You are a problem-solver.
Requirements:
* Biology/Microbiology/Biological Engineering Sophomore or above. Recent grads most welcome!
* Experience with sterile technique and working in a BSL2 lab.
* Experience with DNA extraction or other molecular biology techniques.
* Previous research experience a plus.
If this sounds like you, please send a resume and portfolio of previous projects (if applicable) to ghaeli at mit.edu<mailto:ghaeli at mit.edu>.
