At Lumio Health, we empower people to make health decisions with confidence by giving everyone access to clinical-grade testing at home. This is enabled by unique technology, invented at Harvard and Boston Children’s Hospital, that is orders of magnitude more sensitive and more affordable than what’s available at hospitals or clinical labs. Our ambition is to usher in an era of proactive medicine so we can all get the care we need before it’s too costly or too late.

Our first diagnostic system will help couples achieve a successful pregnancy sooner by helping them time their intercourse and monitor through the first trimester. It relies on standard biomarkers like LH and bHCG, but we are also developing a test for fertilization so couples can know as soon as the morning after intercourse. Knowing fertilization status will also help us better diagnose and treat infertility.

Our underlying technology is a new way to read out sandwich ELISAs that increases sensitivity by orders of magnitude (attomole detection). By eliminating all wash steps our technology enables tests to be performed easily by lay users at home.
