Innovation for Impact: IAP Workshop Series
Workshops: Jan 20 – 22, 1 – 4 pm
Join us for the Innovation for Impact workshop series during IAP, coordinated by the MIT Priscilla King Gray Public Service Center! Over three days students, guest experts, and workshop leaders will learn from each other by critically exploring case studies, concepts, and tools for effective innovation design such as problem framing, mapping the social and policy context, pitching your idea, building an effective multi-disciplinary team, reflective practice, and how to learn from those who will ultimately use your idea.
Session topics include: (1) Developing a Clear Problem Statement; (2) Considering Context: The Influence of Culture, Laws, Funding, and Policy in Innovation; and (3)Tools for Collaborative Innovation

IDEAS Global Challenge

Working on an innovative project that makes a positive change in the world?
Enter it into the IDEAS Global Challenge for a chance to win up to $15k per team to make your idea a reality. Submit today and apply for a Development Grant. All teams must submit at least one Scope Statement to be considered for the final round of proposals; the final chance to enter is February 18. Teams who are eligible will be invited to submit a Final Proposal on March 18. Teams must be led by a full-time MIT student and must demonstrate that MIT students have made a significant contribution to the innovation.

Develop a proposal for a Davis Projects for Peace $10,000 fellowship!
Apply by: Mon, Feb 1, 12 pm
Davis Projects for Peace is offering a $10,000 fellowship for an MIT undergraduate student project that promotes peace, to be implemented in the summer of 2016. The aim is to “help young people launch some immediate initiatives that could bring new thinking to the prospects for peace in the world.” MIT will select several compelling proposals to send forward, and at least one is guaranteed to be funded! Think creatively, innovatively, and entrepreneurially—this is a chance to formulate and test ideas for peace.
Proposals should be emailed to davis-peace at mit.edu<mailto:davis-peace at mit.edu> by noon on Monday, February 1, 2016.
