I’m writing to let you know that funding is available for MIT undergraduates working on summer 2016 UROP research relevant to childhood cancers.

This support is available to us through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (http://www.alexslemonade.org/), a non-profit focused on raising money and awareness for childhood cancer causes, particularly new treatments and cures. The Foundation is named after Alexandra Scott, who succumbed to cancer in 2004 at age eight.  Alexandra’s parents and (ALSF Executive Directors) Jay and Liz Scott aim to promote interest in childhood cancers among undergraduate researchers, and have provided MIT with a gift to support up to five summer 2016 UROP students working in relevant areas.

If you plan to conduct summer 2016 UROP research that is relevant to childhood cancers, please be in touch with UROP staff in 7-104 to discuss funding options: urop at mit.edu<mailto:urop at mit.edu>, 617-253-7306.
