Today's virus warning, for a new version of the Bagle virus, has a
few hot flashes, in my mind:
>>o Attempts to open a backdoor on an infected user's PC
Means, give the intruder a way to access your machine, your files,
etc etc, without your knowledge.
>>o Attempts to spread using popular file-sharing applications
>> such as KaZaa, Bearshare and Limewire
OK - I'm not going to discuss the legalities or lack thereof here. It
is, however, WELL KNOWN that many files received through these
programs are infected. Be warned.
>>o Attempts to terminate processes belonging to several
>> anti-virus and firewall applications
Lastly, what it's saying is, it TURNS OFF your anti-virus and/or
firewalls. Enough said.
Let's be careful out there!
Regards,
Gurukarm
As always, NEVER NEVER open attachments from someone you don't know;
even if an attachment APPEARS to be from a friend or colleague but
you're not expecting anything from that person, check with the sender
before opening. The "from" field is almost certainly forged by the
virus.
