Dear Andy,
Thank you for getting NESSIE onto the Boston Area Planetary Scientists
(BAPS) website. With all of the amazing developments on Mars, there is
lots of interest in getting planetary astronomers to give presentations.
The big week for many educators is the week of May 6 which is the
official "Space Day." Within Massachusetts, we have a call for a
scientist to present to K-5 students at the Balch School in Norwood.
Their big theme is planetary colonization, so they are keen on getting
somebody who is involved with the ISS, Mars expeditions, or other
planetary research. The contact at the Balch School is Sean Richardson
<srichardson at norwood.k12.ma.us>.
More Space Day events are occurring throughout New England. The
coordinator for the Northeast region is Sharon Eggleston
<bseggs at blazenetme.net>. It would be great if the BAPS folk could get
involved as presenters at these various events.
Thanks,
Bill Waller
