[ASA-Official] [ASA] Space Allocation Update: 2025-2027 Draft Results and Key Statistics

Dear Student Group Leaders,

We're pleased to share an update on the 2025-2027 Space Allocation process, which has successfully processed applications from student organizations across campus.
Application Overview
We received and processed 186 total applications from clubs seeking office and storage space for the 2025-2027 period. The majority of applications focused on space retention and new storage needs:

  *   117 organizations (61%) requested to retain their current space
  *   40 organizations applied for new storage space
  *   12 organizations requested space changes
  *   3 organizations submitted no specific request
  *
5 organizations requested both new office and storage space

Allocation Status
Approximately 82% of assignments are unchanged from the previous cycle. The Draft Allocation represents new or different assignments to a locker/room. Note that derecognized groups will not receive space, so even if you are on this list you need to make sure you are unfrozen and recognized.
Appeals Process
If your group wishes to appeal an allocation decision, please submit a formal request via email to the ASA Board (asa-space at mit.edu) by January 25, 2026. Your appeal should clearly state what is being appealed and provide a brief rationale. Appeals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Note that we have limited total space, so appealing getting no space should be accompanied by who you could potentially share with.
