Dear Student Group Leaders,

Please take note of the following announcements:

(1) Operating Guidelines Changes

(2) SOLC Summit Make-Ups & Spotlight Sessions

(3) CAC Opening of the Books ‘20-’21 (12/2, 10 AM)

----------------------------------------------

(1) Operating Guidelines Changes

Thank you to everyone who contributed feedback at the GBM about our proposed operating guidelines changes! We kept the discussion to the most pertinent points requiring direct feedback, but would still like to hear your thoughts on any part of the proposed changes, even the points raised at the GBM. (Also, note that any group that did not attend the GBM will be receiving an email with information about make-up sessions over the next two weeks!)

The proposed changes to the ASA Operating Guidelines can be found here: <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1itJyWJmiPJCPOSJO8yu-U1v_4I-c1p6f0E3I2P9pf7s/edit?usp=sharing>

We have annotated the document with proposed changes and the original text, as well as explanations and/or elaborations on selected changes that have been seen by and workshopped with the GSC and UA. Note that none of this is final; the document will go through another round of edits after collecting feedback from the GBM, and then must receive approval from the UA and GSC before implementation two weeks after UA and GSC presidential approval and a final ASA board vote. If you have specific questions or comments on proposed changes, please submit them here, noting the relevant page or footnote number: <https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/349706>. We will be accepting comments through next Wednesday, November 13th at 10 AM.

(2) SOLC Summit Make-Ups & Spotlight Sessions

The following is a message from the Student Officer Leadership Committee and SAO:

Thank you to everyone who attended the Student Organization Leadership Summit! Four upcoming sessions are being held on the topics that received the highest levels of positive feedback from the over 270+ students who attended the Summit. Groups that did not attend the Summit received individual emails with information requesting the attendance of their president, treasurer, or executive board proxy for these make-up sessions. However, these sessions are also open for any student leader who would like further training on these valuable topics or was not able to attend one of these sessions at the Summit itself. Please see below for Spotlight Session information:

1. Event Planning Walkthrough – Thursday, November 14th, 5:30PM – 6:30PM

2. Unconscious Bias – Monday, November 18th, 5:00PM – 6:00PM

3. Developing an Effective Transition Plan – Tuesday, November 19th, 5:00PM – 6:00PM

4. Effective Communication & Delegation – Thursday, November 21st, 5:00PM – 6:00PM
