Dear Student Group Leaders,

Please take note of the following announcements:

1. LEF/ARCADE Summer applications due TOMORROW

2. Early returns applications have two parts!!! (Due 6/7/19)

3. Re-recognition updates to be sent Monday

----------------------------------------------

(1) LEF/ARCADE Summer applications due TOMORROW

The deadline to submit applications to the Large Event Fund (LEF) and the Assisting Recurring Cultural And Diversity Events (ARCADE) Fund Spring Cycle is TOMORROW, June 1st at 11:59PM EST. This deadline is for events occurring between July 1, 2019 and September 30, 2019.

Please use this link to apply: <https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/276839>. Do NOT use the old form (that operated through the ASA webpage.) We will ONLY be processing applications submitted through the Engage form linked above.

If you are submitting after the deadline, please use the late applications form: <https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/294005>.

More information about eligibility for these funds is available online: <http://web.mit.edu/asa/resources/large-events.html>.

You are encouraged to meet with someone from the Student Activities Office to discuss your application, particularly if it is for a new event or you are making substantial changes to a recurring event. You MUST meet with the Student Activities Office to discuss an event if it will involve paying a speaker or performer. Email <sao-desk at mit.edu> with any questions!

----------------------------------------------

(2) Early returns applications have two parts!!! (Due 6/7/19)

** Please remember that your group must fill out a Sponsoring Group application to receive an Early Return allocation (see below). We have had 30 student submissions but only six groups sponsor students so far! **

If you are an undergraduate student who is eligible to register for MIT in the fall, and who will be living in an undergraduate dorm during Fall 2019, you are eligible to apply for an early return. Early returns are given to a limited number of students who will be present and representing their groups during orientation at the Activities Midway, as well as participating in other student group rush events. Those students who receive an early return will need to check in with the ASA at the Activities Midway; failure to do so will result in a fine. ASA early returns will allow students to move into their dorms on Wednesday, August 28, 2019.

There are two parts to the application process for early returns, which must be filled out by distinct individuals:

1. The student asking for an early return must fill out the student application form (https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/287902)

2. An executive member of the group must fill out the Sponsoring Group application (https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/287904)

Both forms are due by Friday, June 7th at 11:59 pm EST.

Due to an extremely limited number of early returns, we would encourage groups to obtain assistance at the midway by student members who already have an early return through other programs or live off-campus. Note that students with summer housing are entitled to continuous housing during this period without an early return.

Please direct any questions about the early returns process to <asa-exec at mit.edu<mailto:asa-exec at mit.edu>>.

----------------------------------------------

(3) Re-recognition updates to be sent Monday

Notifications for any groups who did not complete the officer response form, membership confirmation, or both, will be receiving an email from the ASA on Monday with information about late submissions to maintain their recognized status and associated fines.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please feel free to email <asa-exec at mit.edu<mailto:asa-exec at mit.edu>> with any requests, questions, or other inquiries.

Sincerely,

The ASA Executive Board
