Dear Student Group Leaders,

Please take note of the following announcements:

(1) LEF-ARCADE (January - March) Funding Cycle Deadline (12/22/14)

(2) CAC Holiday Closures

(3) Postering Allocations Update

-----------------------------------------------------------

(1) LEF-ARCADE (January - March) Funding Cycle Deadline (12/22/14)

The deadline to submit applications to the Large Event Fund (LEF) and the
Assisting Recurring Cultural And Diversity Events (ARCADE) fund is
12/22/2014 at 11:59PM EST. The deadline for submitting late applications
and appeals will be 12/29/2014 at 11:59 PM EST. This deadline is for events
occurring between January 1, 2015 and March 31, 2015. The application and
more information about the funds are available online: <
http://web.mit.edu/asa/resources/large-events.html>.

You are encouraged to meet with someone from the Student Activities Office
to discuss your application, particularly if it is for a new event or you
are making substantial changes to your event. You MUST meet with the
Student Activities Office to discuss an event if it will involve paying a
speaker or performer. You can contact Joel Pettigrew, <joelp at mit.edu>
about scheduling an appointment.

You are also strongly encouraged to meet with the LEF/ARCADE board members
before submitting your application by scheduling an appointment with us
(contact the ASA Treasurer, <asa-treasurer at mit.edu>) or by visiting our
office hours. Please check our online calendar, <
http://web.mit.edu/asa/about/office-hours.html> , for LEF/ARCADE office
hours, as well as general ASA office hours.

-----------------------------------------------------------

(2) CAC Holiday Closures

The Stratton Student Center (W20) will be closed for the Christmas and New
Year’s holidays. It will be closed from Wednesday, December 24 at 5:00PM
to Monday, December 29 at 7:00AM for Christmas, and from Wednesday,
December 31 at 5:00PM to Saturday, January 3 at 7:00AM.

---------------------------------------------------------

(3) Postering Allocations Update

Due to an unforeseen confusion regarding some locked postering display
cases, private group board space applications have been delayed. CAC has
been wonderful in working with the ASA to resolve the questions, and we
expect allocations to be out within a week. When they are sent, a revised
timeline for appeals and when to fill your space by will be included.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Please feel free to email <asa-exec at mit.edu> with any requests, questions,
or other inquiries. Good luck on finals, and happy holidays from the ASA
Executive Board!

Sincerely,

The ASA Executive Board
