Do you like teaching?
Do you like working with high school students?
Do you remember taking your AP classes and thinking you could've taught it
better?
Do you want to make a difference?
If so, you should come teach for DELVE!
!
Delve is a program run through the Educational Studies Program. We reach
out to the greater Boston high school community and offer students a chance
to take an AP course their school just may not offer. In the past years we
have offered AP Art History, Biology, Calculus AB/BC, Chemistry, Economics,
English Literature, Latin, Music Theory, Physics B/C. Teaching for Delve is
a great opportunity to get involved with the community and pass on what you
know to students in the way you think is best.
You may teach any of the AP classes CollegeBoard offers! You will have the
opportunity to design your ! own syllabus and select your own textbook.
We would love to have you teach! As you consider, please keep in mind you
will be tied up for approximately thirty Sundays (1:30pm to 5pm each
Sunday), from early September until the APs in the beginning of May (no
class over Thanksgiving or winter break). This is an important
responsibility and a full-year commitment is required - which means you
can't drop out in the middle of the year. Although teaching for Delve is a
big commitment, it is also extremely fun and a wonderful experience.
If you would like to teach for Delve, then by June 20 you should e-mail <
<mailto:delve at mit.edu> delve at mit.edu> with your name, year, and class you
would like to teach. Please also include a brief statement of why you would
like to teach. You will then be contacted for an interview.
We hope you will teach for us! Feel free to contact us at <
<mailto:delve at mit.edu> delve at mit.edu> with any questions,! or visit our
