[18335fall08] exam problems from previous terms

Hi gang,

I looked through the 18.335 exams from previous terms.  Some of the  
problems are ones that I wouldn't be inclined to ask.  The ones that  
are closest to things I might ask are:

Fall 2005: problem 2, 3, 7, & problem 8 (but I would give you the  
eigenvalues -2, 3, 2, 1 in part a).

Fall 2006: problem 5, 6, 7

Note, however, that in previous terms the midterm did not cover  
exactly the same material. e.g. they had nothing on caches, and  
iterative algorithms (not including QR) weren't covered until after  
their mid-term.  Here, caches and iterative algorithms are fair game.
