CCPRW -- Cambridge Chinese Politics Research Workshop

The Cambridge China Politics Research Workshop serves three main functions: (1) to create a forum for discussing substantive and methodological issues related to China research; (2) to provide a venue in which students and faculty can present and receive feedback on China-related research plans and writings at all stages of development; (3) to foster a stronger community of Cambridge-area political science doctoral students and faculty with an interest in China.

Such a workshop is especially helpful to young scholars at a time when the scope and quantity of research on Chinese politics is exploding and a broader set of research methods is becoming feasible in the Chinese context. A key purpose of the workshop is to provide methodological and substantive best-practices sharing among China scholars. Ideally, the workshop serves as a forum in which students and other young researchers can share research work at all stages of development. The hope, simply put, is that the workshop provides a comfortable, relatively low-stakes environment in which to share research, receiving both substantive and methodological tips from other China scholars.
