[WinPartners] XP - domain user to local user?

Hi,

I removed a machine from a domain where the users files were stored 
locally, but there is not an matching local account for the 
documents/settings.  Is it possible to just create a corresponding 
username on the local machine which will "pickup" the documents and 
settings?  Or will the account step on that folder during it's 
initial creation?

The OS is XP Professional.
