Embrace the flexibility that's made possible with XHTML and CSS while creating
compelling designs. Prepare your designs for worst-case scenarios, increased
user control and readability for varying text sizes and amounts of content. Dan
Cederholm will attempt to help you "let go of pixel precision", while explaining
the importance of lean markup, flexible CSS and planning for the unknown.
Dan Cederholm is a web designer and author living in Salem, Massachusetts. He's
the founder of SimpleBits, a tiny web design studio.
A recognized expert in the field of standards-based web design, Dan has worked
with Google, Fast Company, Inc.com, ESPN, Blogger, Odeo, and others. With each
new project comes an opportunity to minimize markup and embrace the flexibility
of CSS.
Dan is the author of two popular books: Bulletproof Web Design (New Riders,
2005) and Web Standards Solutions (friends of ED/Apress, 2004). Dan also runs
the popular weblog SimpleBits, where he writes articles and commentary on the
web, technology and life.
Dan enjoys sharing his simplistic approach to web design, while spreading the
word on the standards-based markup and style techniques he's collected.
He also plays in a competitive dodgeball league and occasionally wears a
baseball cap.
