Does a class or exam conflict with your Holy Week worship plan? If so, MIT has a policy to help! If you are unable to participate in a class, exam, study, or work due to a religious observance (e.g. Holy Week), you can reach out to your professor and get extensions, makeup exams, etc. Please reach out to your professors, explain that this is Holy Week and any conflict with your plan to honor God during this sacred week.

9.12.2 Student Absence for Religious Observances
In accordance with Massachusetts state law, any student who is unable to attend classes or participate in any examination, study, or work requirement on a particular day because of his or her religious beliefs is excused from any such activity. The student will be given the opportunity to make up the work that was missed, provided that the makeup work does not create an unreasonable burden upon MIT.
The Institute will not levy fees or charges of any kind when allowing the student to make up missed work. In addition, students will suffer no adverse or prejudicial effects because they have made use of these provisions. If I can be of help, pls let me know.

Blessings and peace,

Fr Michael

“Jesus loves you always, even when you don’t feel worthy.
When not accepted by others, even by yourself sometimes,
He is the one who always accepts you. Only believe, you are precious to Him.
Bring all you are suffering to His feet, only open your heart to be loved by Him as you are.
He will do the rest.” Saint Mother Teresa
