The Women of Tango Film Presentation and Dance Workshop

In Tango, it is the men who are often most talked about when it comes to pioneering in the dance. However there have been quite a few women who have left their mark on the dance. From Carmencita Calderon at the turn of the last century to Guillermina Quiroga at the cutting edge of the dance today, this film presentation is dedicated to those female pioneers of tango.

In this unique video presentation, you will have the chance to go back in time and see with your own eyes the great female dancers of the past. Tango Historian Antón Gazenbeek, will open up his private film archive of Tango for a public screening.

After the one hour lecture, we delve into the heart of tango by learning some of the signature steps of the dance couples seen.
