[Tango-A] NA-W:Enriqueta Kleinman workshops in San Francisco November 21 and 22

Enriqueta Kleinman from Buenos Aires, Argentina will be in San Francisco & Bay Area from November 18-29, 2009.  Enriqueta will do a series of workshops on Saturday, November 21st and Sunday November 22nd at La Pista. There is an early registration discount through November 7th.  Enriqueta will also be doing some pre-milonga classes and regular classes during her stay.  She will also be available for private lessons.

ENRIQUETA KLEINMAN BIO
Enriqueta Kleinman is an artist by profession. She is a teacher and dancer of tango – “Milonguero Style”, and also a singer of tango music.  She is also a teacher of drawing and painting and a painter.  In tango, Enriqueta has had different teachers that have indelible tracks in her.  She investigated with each one of them styles and concepts. This is their concept of the dance and their teachings transformed into her own. Her teachers included teachers such as: Carlos Gavito (“technique for the woman”, Roberto “Pocho” Carreras, Nely Fernando, Ana Maria Shapira, and Susana Miller.  It is with Susan Miller that Enriqueta “learned how to teach”. With time and more so by teaching other disciplines, Enriqueta developed her own pedalogical method.

With a solid foundation in technique and musicality, Enriqueta gives classes to men and women of tango, waltz and milonga.  She puts the accent in the structure that makes it possible that one’s expression appears and develops. Enriqueta travels tiredlessly and has travelled teaching through many cities of the United States and Canada: Chicago; Seattle; Portland; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Tucson, Arizona; Iowa City; San Francisco; San Diego; Toronto, Vancouver, etc. She has also participated in the following tango festival: May Madness (Ann Arbor), Valentengo (Portland), Tucson Tango Festival, and the Chicago Mini Tango Festival..

Enriqueta is the owner of a charismatic personality.  She transmits her passion to her students and motivates them to dance “what they feel in their soul and put it into their body”.  She is beloved and respected by her students. She establishes strong principles and she generates a climate of intense but pleasant and amusing work.

Workshops, Saturday , November 21
Intermediates
12:00-1:30 pm - class 1 - "Groundness" - concept  and  technique. Walking from our knees. Intention -walking with "corridas" forward and backwards.

2-3:30pm - class 2- "Dancing Tango on the Floor" - 'amague' - 'amague with change of fronts'.  Raising and lowering energy according to the timing of the music

4 - 5:30 pm - class 3 -"Milonga Lisa " (smooth) - concept of compass and timing following the music. Figures that can be used as sequences.

Workshops, Sunday Nov 22 

12:30-2:00 pm - class 4 - "Rotated ocho -sacadas-sacads with turns and "sable"- low boleos "

2:30-4:00 pm -class 5 -"Milonga traspie" concept of ½ time. Traspie as a step.  Using trapie with figures.

Private Lessons:  Lessons are $90/hr-single or couple. Enriqueta will be available from November 18 through November 29th for private lessons..

Enriqueta will also do pre-milonga classes on Wednesday, November 18th at La Pista and on November 21 at the Late Shift.  She will also teach at the Lafayette Dance Center in Lafayette on Friday, November 20; at Alberto’s Night Club in Mountain View on Monday, November 23rd ; and at the Precious Life Wellness Center in Berkeley on  Tuesday, November 24th.
