This Night Only -- TONIGHT--an amazing night-- January 22
a one-night-only "Milonga Milagrosa" Benefit in support of
El Taller Latino Americano Multicultural Foundation
 
Place: El Taller Latino Americano
2710 Broadway, 3rd Flr (between 103rd St & 104th St).

Time: 9:00 pm to 2:00 am
(Beginner Class 8 pm to 9 pm)
 
Dance all Night to Live Music by: The Taller Cuatro Tango Club, featuring
international superstars Guillermo Vaisman on keyboard; Ruben Isola on
guitar; Ken Rizzo on bass; and Guillermo Cardenas on percussion. Most New
Yorkers have never heard these great musicians before,

El Taller's unique art gallery & performance space (located in a landmarked
Upper West Side building where Thomas Edison showed his first movies).
 
Also--the World Premier performance of "Caminito," the most beloved of all
Argentine tangos in a moving new English translation of Gabino Coria
Peñaloza¹s immortal 1920's lyrics.
 
Special Surprise Tango Performance at 11:00 pm.
 
Enjoy rich Argentine wines: Malbec, Syrahs and Tempranillos from Mendoza and
Tucuman. Plus Aromatic Argentine coffee along with Yerba Mate tea.
 
Savor a banquet of splendid quesos and chorizos from Argentina, France and
Italy, on crusty sourdough baguettes from fabled Silver Moon Bakery (which
The New Yorker Magazine calls ³more Left Bank than upper Broadway²).
 
IMPORTANT: You must sign a Film Talent Release to enter. Everyone
(everyone!) will be photographed individually by acclaimed portrait artist
Jennifer Pliego (we will gladly forward digital copies to all who provide an
email address). 

And the entire evening will be filmed by noted director Tom Campbell, as
part of a new full-length documentary (scheduled for end-of-2009 release) on
El Taller.

 Artistic Director Bernardo Palombo has been able to entice some of the
greatest names in international music through our portals, including
Mercedes Sosa, Philip Glass, David Byrne, León Gieco, Atahualpa Yupanqui,
Grupo Aymara, Conjunto Libre, The Soldier String Quartet, Pete Seeger, Luis
Días, Larry Harlow, and many more.
