1. ABOUT MARIA AND GUSTAVO

Maria and Gustavo belong to the very best contemporary Argentine Tango dancers. They have been performing in the most famous tango salons of Buenos Aires. Regular teachers at the Salón Canning, they also work for the renowned "Escuela de Tango Beba Bidart" and for the "Centro Cultural Torquato Tasso". Their invigorating musicality while maintaining clear lines and superb technique made them equally sought after performers and teachers abroad, and they have been touring several times Europe, Canada and the US (some of you may recall their performing at the Tango Break and Tango Lounge as they were passing through Boston in 2005).

Maria holds Bachelor of Political Science of the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Gustavo obtained Bachelor of Journalism from the Escuela Argentina de Periodismo, Buenos Aires. Journalist and the graphic designer of the tango magazine "Diostango" Gustavo also authored the book "La Pista Del Abrazo - Técnicas y Metáforas entre el Tango y la Vida", translated by Maria into its english version "Embracing Tango". This unique book about Tango de Salon deals with all the concepts related to this style, as well as with the codes of behoviour at milongas, working out strategies and suggestions pertaining to dance invitation and acceptance. Furthermore, Gustavo is the author of "TangoDanza Glossary - Key to Tango Argentino dance terms", which describes more than 300 terms related to tango, with the prologue by Juan Carlos Copes and Carlos Gavito, and epilogue by Miguel Angel Zotto. For his work as a dancer, teacher and writer Gustavo has been awarded "Sábados
