The Tango Society of Central Illinois is hosting the Central Tango
Milonguero Festival in Urbana IL Feb 29 - Mar 2. Complete details are

Some details:

1. Instructors - 2 couples

Alicia Pons (Buenos Aires) & Robert Hauk (Portland OR)
Melina Sedo & Detlef Engel (Germany)

Alicia & Robert, in addition to teaching 4 workshops together, will
each be teaching technique (Men's, Women's) workshops.

All instructors will participate in giving demonstrations during the
Saturday night milonga.

PRIVATE LESSONS: Please contact us if you would like private lessons
with the festival instructors.


2. Milongas: Friday & Saturday nights


3. Registration

Advance Registration due Mon Feb 25: Weekend Pass ($120, $60 students;
> 200 mi travel: $100, $50 students) includes 7 workshops & 2 milongas
(as well as free on site festival parking, refreshments between
workshops and at milongas). Registration form is downloadable from
festival home page.


4. Facilities

The Phillips Center has state of the art dance rooms with sprung wood
floors. The room for milongas has a state of the art sound system.
There is a comfortable lounge for break periods.


5. Housing

There are over a dozen hotels, motels, and bed & breakfast facilties
within 10 minutes by car. Some are even within walking distance of the
festival site. All have free parking on site. Prices are considerably
lower than in major cities.

Free housing in the home of Urbana-Champaign tangueros is available
upon request. Priority is given to those registering in advance for
the Weekend Pass, and for students.


6. Restaurants

There are over 30 restaurants within 10 minures of the festival site.
Prices are considerably lower than in major cities.


7. Air Travel

Champaign airport (CMI) is 20 minutes from the festival site. Major
connections are Chicago, Detroit, and Dallas.


8, Hospitality

We are a very friendly tango community. The atmosphere at our
festivals is relaxed. The program is well organized. (People tell us
that.) You will enjoy yourself.
