AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE RARE FILMS OF VINTAGE TANGO
from the extraordinary young collector and lecturer, ANTON GAZENBEEK whose
presentation
yesterday I was very lucky to catch! He has collected over a 1000 videos
from all the tango periods.

Yesterday, for instance, he presented the story of a legendary
tango club‹Sin Rumbo (³the cathedral of tango²)--showing excellent-quality
footage of 
those legends who danced there, and pointing out the innovations and
characteristics 
of such legends as Carmencita Calderon, Cachafaz, Lampazo and Pocha.
We got to see a Guillermina Quiroga as a 16 year old, not yet in heels!
Charming!  
So some grand surprises and thrills await you Sundayl

Bonus moment and totally unexpected: One film of Sin Rumbo from1989 included
our double-ocho, Alex Turney and his wife, Jean, whom we miss.
