IT'S HERE!

Tango de los Muertos commences tonight Thursday, November 2, with the
world's first Battle of the Tango Bands!

***In order to vote in the Battle you must arrive before 10pm, since you can
only vote if you hear all the bands! Please let your friends know to arrive
early!***

Bands will each play a set of four songs with DJed music by Korey Ireland in
between sets to keep the dancing going. The audience and three judges will
vote on their favorite band (each judge's vote counts for 11 audience
members). There will be prizes, including a day of recording, generously
donated by Rear Window Recording Studio.

THE BANDS
Tango Mucha Labia, Portland, ME
Band on Pink Corner, Boston, MA
Adriel Azure and his Dream Indigo Orchestra, Boston, MA
Ben Bogart y los Gatos Azules, Providence, RI

THE JUDGES

You - ?

THE RULES
Dancers and audience members who vote must hear all of the bands. Voting
tickets will be given out upon arrival between 9:00 -10:00pm. The first band
starts playing at 10pm and the last band begins at 11:30pm. When the last
note of the last band is played, voting commences and continues until
12:15pm, at which point the votes are counted and the winner is announced!

WHO SHOULD WIN? The point here is not to choose the band with the highest
level of musicianship - although that is important - but to choose the band
that is the best to dance to. If you want to know more about what makes a
band good to dance to come to the workshop for musicians on Saturday,
November 4th! Then you'll be ready for next year's Battle...

Also, please note the location change for the Free Beginning Workshop taught
by Felipe Martinez and Rosa Corisco. It will be held tonight from
7:30-9:00pm in the Student Center rm 407, just upstairs from the milonga.

Check the website www.halloweentangofestival.com for more information about
this weekend's festivities.
We're looking forward to seeing you!
