Shahrukh Merchant offering Tango workshops in CA/OR/WA and Western
Canada during July

I'm on a car trip from Los Angeles to Vancouver (and beyond) starting
about now, and driving mainly along the Pacific Coast during July (and
then both sides of the US/Canada border during the first part of
August). It is not a "Tango trip" per se, but on a similar trip from
Boston to Los Angeles in fall last year I had an enjoyable time teaching
Tango workshops and visiting Tango communities along the way.

So I am offering this again: teaching Tango workshops or classes in your
community if it is more or less along my route and more or less fits in
with my schedule.

Since this is not a "working" trip, you wouldn't have to pay the usual
fee, or any fee for that matter, particularly if it were a non-profit
activity (although it would be great if you could put me up for the night).

My speciality is Milonga and close-embrace Tango (among other styles, of
course), but you can see more details at:

http://www.shahrukhmerchant.com/tango/ (Tango home page)
http://www.shahrukhmerchant.com/tango/teaching_tango.htm (teaching page)
http://www.shahrukhmerchant.com/tango/biography.htm (biography)
http://www.shahrukhmerchant.com/tango/testimonials.htm (testimonials)

The approximate schedule is:

July 10: Los Angeles
July 13-15: San Francisco
July 16-18: Northern California (N of San Francisco)
July 19-24 (approx): Oregon State
July 25-30 (approx): Washington State

The trip continues after that ...

Aug 1-10 (approx): Western Canada (B.C. and Alberta)
Aug 10-15 (approx): Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin.

Please contact me at shahrukh at shahrukhmerchant.com if you are
interested, or preferably by telephone at 617-234-4443 since while I am
on the road I will have more limited e-mail access than usual (go ahead
and send an e-mail too so that I have your contact info in a written
form as well).

P.S. While I am a Tango DJ also (see tangodj.com), I generally like to
dance at Milongas when I am travelling (unless it is specifically to DJ,
of course), so I will be happy to put on a pre-compiled collection of
music for your event but probably not to be "live DJing" (where I am
selecting music on the fly and cannot really dance much).
