Hi Everyone,
I'm helping out at an event this Thursday and thought it might be of
interest to you.
Let me know if you have any questions.

"Bridging the Gap between Needs and Available Services Among Children
Affected by HIV/AIDS in Rural China"

The Pediatric HIV/AIDS Treatment Support Program was started in 2007
by Eliza Petrow, one of the health session speakers during the
Millennium Campus Conference, who has extensive experience in global
health delivery both in South Africa and rural China. The program-
under the AIDS Orphan Salvation Association and in partnership with
Dr. Kay Johnson of Hampshire College- provides treatment, care and
support to HIV+ children, many of whom have lost one or both parents
to AIDS. This program fulfills the unmet need of personal care and
treatment for these children who live in resource poor and isolated
rural areas of Anhui and Henan Provinces. For the first 12 months,
the program has received generous support from DC-based Medical Care
Development International; however, additional HIV+ children in need
of assistance have been identified and continued financial support is
required to sustain and expand the program from June 1, 2008 onward.
The continuation of the program is critical not only for the health
and development of the children already enrolled in the program, but
also for its expansion to care for additional HIV/AIDS affected and
infected children in the area.

There will be a fundraising event to expand and sustain the program on
Thursday, May 8th from 7-9pm.
