but when I am giving

1) python

Python 2.6.6 (r266:84292, Jan 22 2014, 09:42:36)
[GCC 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-4)] on linux2

2) pip -V
pip 1.5.6 from /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages (python 2.6)

do I have to use python 2.7 ?
i thought >2.6 will work ...

I am technically not sound so please be patience.
