NE GWiSE is having its second annual Spring to Action event! This year it
is called "Roles and Relationships: A Summit on Mentorship in Grad School
and Beyond" and will be hosted by Harvard University. The goals are to help
schools identify different types of mentoring-related programs they can
implement, give them tools/resources to start them, help them improve
current programming, and decide how to measure their program's impact.

The day will include an inspiring keynote speaker, an exciting panel of
mentees talking about their experiences, a mixture of workshops, and an
optional mocktail hour for networking and socializing!

Society of Women Engineers is one of the largest, most active student-run
organizations at MIT. With around 300 national members, S*WE empowers women
to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their

The Scientista Symposium is a *national conference that helps advance the
careers of young women in STEMM* by facilitating networking with
representatives from top companies, a range of professional and technical
skill workshops, and a chance to present research and compete for cash
prizes.

This year’s program features 3 inspirational keynote speakers, 7 career
panels on topics such as science communication, science policy, industry,
and entrepreneurship in STEM, workshops on Python coding, a research poster
session, a pitch competition to a panel of investors, free headshots(!),
resume review sessions, and a career fair with 50 top organizations like
Google, Genentech, NASA, and more. Our conferences regularly attract over
500 young women from top institutions throughout the country – it’s a
fantastic opportunity to cultivate professional relationships.

IAP Field Trip with the MIT List Visual Arts Center to Possible Selves:
Queer Foto Vernaculars at Williams College of Art Museum (WCMA)

Possible Selves is the first major exhibition about the global impact of
queer identities on the evolution of portrait photography and brings
together works from WCMA’s collection alongside over two-hundred images
from social media.

Join the MIT List Visual Arts Center, who presented this year’s Max
Wasserman Forum: Future Genders, to continue the exploration of how artists
tackle the stakes of visibility and politics of identity when they address
the complexity of gender. This field trip will examine representations of
gender identity in social media, and analyze embodiment in art photography
and through visual representations online.

We will meet in the lobby of the List Visual Arts Center and travel
together to the Williams College of Art Museum, followed by conversations
over lunch before coming back to MIT in the afternoon.

Please note: This IAP workshop is* open to MIT Community only.* Advanced
sign-up is required, and limited spots are available.
