Career Connect is MIT spouses&partners' professional development series for job seekers.
We'll kick off the series with a mini-conference on Monday February 24. The morning session will allow you to get to know other job seekers and includes a free lunch sponsored by Bright Horizons. The afternoon session will be my "American Cultural Norms in the Workplace" presentation.

These sessions provide training for MIT spouses and partners who are looking for work or professional development opportunities during their time at MIT.
You are welcome to participate no matter where you are in the job search process. We think our sessions will be especially beneficial to anyone who is currently searching for a job in the United States for the first time, or who is changing careers.

The Graduate Student Council is seeking to hire a mobile developer for building an app that will provide access to GSC materials.
This is a paid position, and it may last to the end of the academic year (or longer, with mutual agreement).
We are looking for building either a native mobile application or a mobile website within an app (using a framework like PhoneGap).
The time requirements for this position are flexible and dependent on work to be done. Compensation: $1,500.

Dr. Gwen Acton is an expert on strategic leadership at the intersection of science and business. She is CEO of Vivo Group, and she has previously served as the Director of Scientific Development at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and as a faculty member at Harvard University in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. Dr. Acton is a popular speaker, workshop presenter, and facilitator.
