Prospect-dmm -- A discussion group for development professionals involved or interested in data mining and modeling.

About Prospect-dmm
English (USA)

Prospect-dmm is a discussion group for development professionals involved or interested in data mining and modeling, particularly as such concepts may be applied to major gifts. Established in February 2005, this list was created to facilitate an industry-wide discussion about how non-profit organizations are using data mining and modeling as new and innovative instruments in their research shops. The topics for discussion within this group include, but are not limited to, areas such as data preparation and understanding, model design and implementation, and measuring the results of a predictive model.

Data mining and modeling are finding their way into many aspects of the development field: prospect identification, trip coordination, event management, and communication. The ways in which non-profits are utilizing these relatively new techniques is as unique as the organizations themselves, and this list provides an opportunity for all those interested to learn from other peer institutions and their varied experiences.
