epd -- discussion of Enzyme Potentiated Desensitization allergy treatment

About epd
English (USA)

List rules

  1. Do not post names of EPD doctors in the USA, Canada, or Mexico (if there even are any left), due to the FDA's ending of EPD in the USA. (This rule doesn't apply to LDA doctors.)

  2. If you have a list of EPD practitioners, DO NOT SHARE that list with anyone else. Share only the name(s) of the doctor(s) nearest the person requesting information.

  3. Please keep more or less to the topic of EPD/LDA/LDI. Occasional off-topic posts are OK so long as they do not offend others.

  4. Blatant commercial solicitations (spam) are prohibited. If you sell a product of potential use to EPD patients, you may mention it and invite people to contact you off list. Sharing helpful information is great, so long as it doesn't resemble an infomercial.

  5. Religious solicitations, proselytizing, and rhetoric are prohibited. The list members recognize that faith is an important part of healing, but references should be brief and respectful to others.

List information

The people on this list are friendly and will offer advice and suggestions when asked. We are at various stages of EPD (Enzyme Potentiated Desensitization) from interest and questioning to veterans with various levels of success and/or failure. Some of us have started LDA (the American version of EPD).

Members of this list have worked hard to organize information that has been discussed. Here are some sites and info that will be helpful for you as you start out. This is in addition to the Pink Book (if you have a copy). Members of the list come and go, offer suggestions, etc. as time permits. Therefore, the EPD FAQ and Mailing List Archives are invaluable with accumulated information from over a period of time.

If you have questions as you read through these references or encounter other concerns with EPD, please post your question to the mailing list. The list is here as a community discussion area.

The EPD FAQ for the EPD Mailing List is at: http://www.dma1.org/~rohrers/allergy/epd_faq.htm

Many of your EPD questions are already answered there! It contains a hundred pages or more of the wisdom of this Email list from the perspective of members in many situations from inquiry, finding a doctor, to concerns, to problems, to failures, and to success.

A number of EPD and allergy links may be found at: http://www.dma1.org/~rohrers/allergy/allergy.htm

This is a good place to start for additional EPD research of your own. Also includes links to research items for things which might interfere with EPD treatments as well as links to other allergy related information.

Access to some of the past EPD Mailing List messages may be found at http://www.dma1.org/~rohrers/allergy/ser_epd.htm

A collection of EPD patient stories and comments can be found at: http://www.dma1.org/~rohrers/allergy/epdstory.htm

If you are considering EPD, this is a (big) thumbnail sketch of user accolades, complaints, and anecdotes.

Nickie's web page gives a good description of EPD treatment, intestinal problems which must be treated along with taking EPD injections, & discusses both her and her son's experiences with the treatment. http://www.food-allergy.org/epd.html
