[WinPartners] For Windows Users: IS&T Announces Support for VMware Workstation 11

Good afternoon,

Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) is pleased to offer full support for VMware Workstation 11 for Windows. Workstation 11 lets Windows users install and manipulate supported operating systems in a virtualized environment.

The new features of Workstation 11 can be viewed on VMware's website<https://www.vmware.com/support/ws/doc/workstation-11-release-notes.html>.

MIT faculty, staff, and students can download Workstation 11<http://ist.mit.edu/vmware-workstation> (certificates<http://ist.mit.edu/certificates> required) from IS&T's website free of charge.

The minimum system requirements for Workstation 11 are as follows:

* 64-bit x86 CPU
* 1.3GHz or faster core speed
* 2GB RAM minimum / 4GB RAM and above recommended

The VMware Workstation 11 installer uninstalls VMware Workstation 10 first. All existing Virtual Machine images will be preserved during the upgrade to Workstation 11.
