I'm trying to get event subscriptions working so that I can forward significant events on client machines such as failures to synchronize roaming profiles to a central server.

Clients are all Windows 7. The Server is Windows 2008 R2.

Since I cannot create groups within the win.mit.edu domain, I opted instead to use the moira shadow groups that contain all the PCs I want to forward events from.

So for example, I used cnt-alumni-staff as my container.

I received the following error -

                "WIN\cnt-alumni-staff cannot be translated to a security identifier. It will not be added to the list."

Found this Microsoft article on the subject. Already asked TechNet and they say it has been fixed in SP1.

Furthermore, just for testing sake, I added a group from the Admin\Groups folder and everything worked fine. So it must have something to do with the Moira-created groups in particular. )
