We will hold another joint meeting with our Harvard partners, HARVARD ABCD Windows Working Group,  next week on Wednesday, August 11, from 1:30 to 3:00 PM at the Microsoft New England R&D Center (NERD Center) at One Memorial Drive.



Please let us know if you would like to  discuss some of the cool projects they've worked on lately.





Our topic is "Interesting Projects at Harvard."  Our speakers will be:



  -  Mary Ann Krebs, Senior Technical Analyst, HKS IS:

Mary Ann will discuss how HKS developed custom technical training for their IS staff. (http://www.hks.harvard.edu/is/)



  -  Elizabeth Vernon, Judaica Technical Services Librarian, Harvard College

Library:

Elizabeth will discuss the use of Macro Express, a Windows scripting tool, to increase productivity and efficiency in the Libraries.

  -  Corinna Baksisk, Systems Librarian, Harvard University Library:

Corinna will discuss some of the niftier technical features of HOLLIS.

  -  Sue Kriegsman, Program Manager, Office for Scholarly Communication:

Sue will discuss Library Lab.  The intent of the Lab is to "promote the development of projects in all areas of library activity and leverages the entrepreneurial aspirations of people throughout the library system and beyond. Proposals from faculty and students from anywhere in the university will also be welcomed and the Lab will encourage collaboration with projects being developed at MIT."
