This is an invitation to attend a focus group in which you can have a
say on what the next version of the IT Security web pages will contain.
Focus Group meeting:
----------------------------
Thursday, November 16 @ 1 - 2 pm
N42 Demo Center
As you may already know, the IS&T website has been redesigned and is
slated to go online some time early next year, along with a new
content management system to maintain it.
The organization of the new site is drastically different from the
current site. With Security now being at the "top level" of the
navigation, we want to make sure that it contains the kind of
information that people will be looking for and that will be most
helpful to them.
The new Security "landing" page will look something like this:
https://web.mit.edu/ist/dontindex/abell/web_pages/site/
NEW_security.html (this is just a mock up)
Our main concern for now is not what the main Security page will look
like but what CONTENT it will contain and how it will direct people to
that a content. That's where you would come in.
To help you to brainstorm, here are some examples of what other
schools have done:

http://informationpolicy.iu.edu/
http://www.purdue.edu/securePurdue/
http://security.vt.edu/
http://security.vpit.txstate.edu/
http://secure.nd.edu/
I greatly appreciate your interest and possible attendance. Bring your
ideas, or if you can't make it, feel free to email me
(myeaton at mit.edu) or Alison Bell (abell at mit.edu).
Thank you!
Monique
