[WinPartners] IBM TSM Backup client 5.4 Macintosh/Windows Release Project Underway

Good Afternoon,

IS&T, in collaboration with IT colleagues across campus, has officially
begun the TSM 5.4 release project. TSM 5.4 is the latest version of the
backup/archive client from IBM for the Windows and Macintosh platforms.

Timeline:
------------------
IS&T anticipates availability and support for TSM 5.4 will be ready in
March 2007.
A note for Linux users, a Linux TSM 5.4 release project is planned for the
spring.

New Features:
-------------------
Mac:
- Intel Macintosh support
- restores your current backup data from a PowerPC system to your Intel
system, and vice versa with no loss of data or attributes.

Windows:
- Vista support in addition to XP.


Known Issues:
----------------------------
Mac:
- Option file names have been changed to dsm.opt and dsm.sys
