IS&T is pleased to release Kerberos for Windows (KfW) 3.2.1 to the MIT
Community. KfW 3.2.1 is the latest version of Kerberos developed at MIT and
contains a number of useful new features mentioned below.

Who Should Install and Why
---------------------------------------------------
- Windows computer users who don't already have KfW installed
- Users of KfW 2.6.5 can continue to use 2.6.5 until version 3.2.2 is
  released

Windows users who need access to kerberized services should install KfW.

NOTE: If you are supported by a local IT professional, check with them
before installing KfW 3.2.1.

Notable Features
---------------------------------------------------
- New and improved graphical user interface - Network Identity Manager (NIM)
- Support for Vista
- Clients are prompted for Kerberos passwords for all GSSAPI applications
with a common NIM password dialog
- Kerberos v5 library version 1.6.1

Known Issues
----------------------------------------------------
- The NIM password prompt dialog can appear underneath the application
  window in certain circumstances
- Under uncommon circumstances, deleted credentials may appear to still be
  valid in the NIM display
- The NIM password prompt dialog only identifies itself by its icon
- These issues should be fixes in version 3.2.2

System Requirements
-----------------------------------------------------
Kerberos for Windows 3.2.1 is supported only on Windows XP and Vista.

KfW 3.2.1 will function on other 32 bit versions of Windows as well. For
information on running KfW 3.2.1 on these older and unsupported operating
systems, see the KfW 3.2.1 Release Notes in the documentation provided
below.

KfW is designed to work in either of two modes on Vista.
1) With UAC disabled.
2) With UAC enabled and users do not have administrator privileges. In this
case, there must be a separate Administrator account and users must
authenticate as this Administrator at the UAC prompt.
