[WinPartners] Vista? Network Autoconfiguration

Hi,
I have been trying to get my Vista test machine to obtain an IP
address automatically from our DHCP server, but have been unable to
because the machine is giving itself a network autoconfiguration IP
address, and I can't figure out how to stop it.
I have set "Obtain an IP address automatically" on the interface
properties. When I do an 'ipconfig/all', I see that both 'DHCP
enabled' and 'Autoconfiguration enabled' are 'yes', and I find that
the machine has gotten an IP address of 169.254.218.47.
Microsoft TechNet shows how to use netsh commands, and recommends the
use of
netsh lan> set autoconfig enabled={yes|no} interface="foo"
I have tried that, but it had no effect.
When I run 'ipconfig/renew' I get a time out and the error message
"...unable to contact your DHCP server..."
Does anyone have experience with this problem?
Regards,
Dave
