Good Afternoon,

Information Services and Technology (IS&T) has just confirmed that SAPgui
6.40 patch 18 is not compatible with Internet Explorer 7 (IE7), which is
scheduled to be deployed via Automatic Update from Microsoft beginning
tomorrow, November 1st. As a result, we recommend that you configure your
machine today to use MIT's Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS). IE7 is
not scheduled to be deployed through WAUS until early January 2007. IS&T is
working on an updated version of SAPgui 6.40 that is compatible with IE7 and
will make it available as soon as it is ready.

Instructions for configuring WAUS are available at:
http://web.mit.edu/ist/topics/windows/updates/

If IE7 is already installed on your machine, it can be removed by following
the steps outlined at:
http://itinfo.mit.edu/answer.php?id=8234

We are not recommending that users install the IE7 Blocker Toolkit to
prevent the installation of IE7 because that change would need to be undone
at some later point to keep the machine secure.

If you have any questions pertaining to this or other IE7 related matters,
please contact the Computing Help Desk at computing-help at mit.edu or (617)
253-1101.
