[WinPartners] Camcorder to DVD via Pentium 3?

I have a Sony DV camcorder and a 1 Ghz P3 PC.    I am looking for the
cheapest way to transfer footage taken by the camera to a DVD recorder.

I tried this on my Mac G3, but the quality, when played back on my DVD
player, was horrible.

So, I'm looking for the most economical method of putting the videos
directly to DVD, be it via the Mac (blue and white G3) or my Intel box,
all in trying to keep the highest quality of video during the transfer.
