[WinPartners] Stepping down as Winpartners Leader and heading back to school

Hi Everyone,

Those of you who attended this month's combined Winpartners and Macpartners social learned that I am leaving IS&T at the end of August to pursue an MBA at the Sloan School of Management. I write this e-mail to inform those who could not make today's meeting of my plans.

It has been a pleasure to work with all of you over the past six years. I remember taking over the group when writing a script to create a user account in an NT domain was considered cool. How far we've come together (at least you better not be running Windows NT anymore)! 

Of course, by taking this step, I leave a vacancy that needs to be filled. If you are interested in leading this user group, please send me (bcvernon at mit.edu) or Ginny Williams (ginnyw at mit.edu) an e-mail. The WinPartners User Group serves an important role as a venue to discuss new technologies, learn cool tips and tricks, and explore the depths of complex issues relevant to Windows administrators and end users. I think it's a valuable resource for the community, and I hope to see it continue.
