[WinPartners] BrioQuery v 6.6.4.44 for Windows released

MIT IS&T is pleased to announce the release and support of BrioQuery 6 for 
Windows.  This release of BrioQuery 6 (v 6.6.4.44) addresses the problem of 
uppercase keystrokes and mixed case passwords experienced by colleagues 
using Windows 2000.  Windows 2000 users should consider updating their 
version of BrioQuery to resolve this problem.

Macintosh users are not impacted by this release of BrioQuery.

What is BrioQuery 6 Software?
-------------------------------------
BrioQuery is a reporting tool that allows you to access data in SQL 
databases (such as the MIT Data Warehouse) for analysis, decision-making, 
reporting, and other purposes.


Who Should Download and Why?
------------------------------
BrioQuery 6.6.4.44 software for Windows requires a newer version of the 
Oracle Client. You can download and install MIT Oracle 9i Client for 
windows from the Software Download Page 
<http://web.mit.edu/software/win.html. >http://web.mit.edu/software/win.html. 
It is necessary to uninstall the older version of Oracle 7 Client prior to 
installing the Oracle 9i Client.

IS&T has compiled and published an Oracle two-tiered application matrix 
listing applications at MIT that use Oracle. Check the matrix to see what 
version of the Oracle server and client, and what components of the client, 
your application needs.

Notable Features
  ------------------------------
BrioQuery 6 features a new interface, introduces new reporting 
capabilities, has eliminated the Detail report, and changed to JavaScript 
for computed items.


Known Issues
--------------------
Installing Oracle 9i Client on top of existing Oracle 7 Client is not 
supported on Windows desktops. Oracle 7 must be uninstalled first.
