[Winpartners] dcpromo + crossover dns tips?

Hi,

I'm working on a new win2k server install and attempting to use a crossover 
cable and dcpromo to quickly get it online.  Things have gone smoothly up until 
the "specify the name of the domain..." portion.  Although I can browse and see 
the domain, upon hitting 'next' I get the error "The domain ...cannot be 
contacted.  Select a different domain." 

I've read up online and in Minasi's book and tried a host of things to no 
avail, so, before I give up, I thought I'd check to see if anyone here has done 
this before and can offer me some tips and guidance.  Feel free to contact me 
offline and I'll follow up to the list if we resolve.
