Job DescriptionThe Associate Director is responsible for coordinating the oversight and supervision of all technical support activities for the Robsham Theater Arts Center (RTAC), the venues at 300 Hammond Pond Parkway (300HPP) and the Brighton Campus Dance Studio, including the supervision of the proper and safe operation of all theater equipment including the lighting system, the sound system, the scenery construction shop, the costume shop, the fly system, and the equipment included in all spaces that are under the direct control of the RTAC.
The Associate Director coordinates and schedules all events in the facilities including classes, maintains a close working relationship with the Theatre Department, and maintains a complete inventory of all equipment in all facilities. The Associate Director aids the Director with budgeting process such as processing student payroll and assisting with reconciliation processes. The position plans for upgrades, coordinates repairs, and issues work orders and alteration and renovation requests as needed. The Associate Director acts as mentor and works directly with all student groups that utilize the RTAC facilities.
The Associate Director is also the primary contact for all University-wide user groups and is the designated liaison to the Environmental Health and Safety Office.
The Associate Director is responsible for coordinating the supervision of maintenance of all theater equipment, including minor maintenance, the issuance of work orders for repairs, and making all necessary arrangements to return equipment needing repair to the manufacturer or their designated representative.
Requirements
Must have extensive knowledge of all working systems in allareas of the support functions of the theater
Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to technical theater
Minimum of five years’ experience in technical theater
Experience with EMS and in theater scheduling is preferred
Evening and weekend work is often required
Stage work includes some lifting
